What is wrong with our starting pitchers?

When you look at our current starting pitchers, all we see is inconsistency. I can't believe that we gave up 5+ runs in the first 5 innings.

I'm not sure if it has anything to do with our catchers or not. When VAritek catched the ball, we didn't see a lot of scores. When our new catchers was in field, we saw ton of score.

If our starting pitchers continue performing poorly, i don't think that we can make it to the play off.

I'm really happy with our bullpen and offensive even though i'm not a big fan of Ortiz.

Thats what i been saying.Beckett and Lester have been big failures so far this season.Maybe they gave Lester an extension to early.

It seems to me that there is 1 poor inning per pitcher at the moment, which erodes the start our offense gives us. 4 or 5 run innings on a consistant basis within the first 6 innings.

Get this ironed out, then we are fine. We can't continually give up big scores in 1 inning. That's my gripe as the pen has been brilliant thus far.

Julio Lugo and Mike Lowell.

Lowell has a great glove and arm, and is reliable, but has no range because of the hip surgery. Lugo has no range, and sucks.

Pretty much every ball hit to the left side ends up being fielded by Bay. Thats killing the starting pitching. The extra hits drive up pitch counts, extend innings, and cause runs to score.

The pitching will be okay, but everybody needs to worship Wakefield for keeping our team going
