What is the difference between the pro bowl and the All-pro team?

For a long time I thought they were the same thing.

Don't beat yourself up. Fast Freddie Smerlas on WEEI (who was a great player, by the way) still uses the two terms interchangeably. While Fast Freddie's football abilities were beyond question, he attended BC via something other than an academic scholarship.

It's kind of funny that the media gets to vote for the All Pro team, when half the time they seem just as clueless or biased as fans.

Ordinary casual fans who vote are usually clueless, it's rare for them to be as informed as people on these forums. They just vote for name recognition.. And although a good portion of the media is ******ed they're not nearly as bad as casual fans.


I for one would agree more with someone like Mike Reiss, who is an intelligent sports reporter than a generic Pittsburgh fan saying: "HINES WARD OMFG BEST WR IN TEH LEEG I GOTTA VOET 4 HIM!!1!".
