From Tim Graham at ESPN:

The Patriots defense couldn't get off the field.

Mayo's absence didn't help, but the Bills offense controlled the second half -- when they had the ball. On the Bills' last drive of the third quarter and first drive of the fourth, they combined for 21 plays and 99 yards, held the ball for 9 minutes, 36 seconds.

The long possessions ended with a field goal and a touchdown to give the Bills an 11-point lead with 5:32 to play.

On the touchdown drive, the Bills converted third downs of 15, 3 and 8 yards that should have sealed the game if not for a crazy play.

"I was just thinking 'When is this team going to actually start playing, play like we do going against each other every day, play like we do in practice?' " said Patriots safety Brandon Meriweather, who made the initial hit on McKelvin to begin the chain reaction on the game-changing fumble.

Fans need to settle down after Monday night - AFC East - ESPN

Ok, not to defend the Pats defense because they were inconsistent last night, but what a twist of the facts. The Bills' offense controlled the second half when they had the ball? Really?!? They had four possessions of 1:51 (27 yards with a punt), 3:20 (52 yards for a field goal), 5:55 (62 yards, 25 yards came off penalties, for TD), and 0:28 (35 yards and ended on downs, end of game). The Bills had one great drive and one good drive in the second half. They definitely didn't control the second half when they had the ball.

Sorry, I think this is a distortion of the facts.

Yeah, that's just idiotic. In all fairness though, it could have been a lot worse had the Bills not shot themselves in the foot time after time with costly penalties.

And it could have been a lot better if they hadn't been gifted two PF calls they clearly didn't deserve, either. . . . Even Florio thinks the call on Wilfork was bogus.
