What are the MAJOR issues to worry about...

1. Bill Belichick has made some terrible decisions in the past few years. BB's decision making is my biggest concern for the team.
-Signing Adalius Thomas, and then not having enough money to re-sign Asante Samuel.
-Trading arguably our best defensive player Richard Seymour a few days before the season starts. Sorry but when you can win NOW, don't take it for granted and trade for the future.

I was open to your point of view in that I also think that BB made a lof of uncharacteristic errors this season, as well as preside over a lot of terrible playcalling, but the above decisions you mention are actually great moves in my opinion.

Keep Asante? wha? Philly fans are scratching their heads over why they paid so much for this cornerback so averse to tackling. I talk to a friend of mine (who lives in the Philly area) quite a bit about the Eagles, and he says he can't understand how this guy brings any value to a team. The opposing offense throws at him continually.

I loved the Seymour trade and still do. Great move by BB.

I kind of agree with your other points.

Nope. The problems start at the top. If those 3 were doing as good as they are expected to, the Patriots would be SuperBowl contenders right now.

LOL...Forum post snobs.

How about you do the thread right and list:

Good decisions vs decisions that went wrong.

That's the problem in this forum lately ... people list all the bad without listing the good. The good far outweighs what went wrong ... and the use of the word "BAD".

Such a misused word ... bad in terms of injuries brought out weaknesses?

or
Bad as in Bill is a lousy GM and coach?

Sports is a gamble ... you hedge your bets (your salary money). You try to maximize it ... but health either makes or breaks you and this year health broke us. A healthier brady & Moss & Welker gets us at least to the AFC championship. Not too shabby.

Perhaps it is time to hire a real GM and take the player selection responsibilities away from Bill.

Yeah ... Bill's 1st draft alone without Pioli was horrid ...

So we were better off giving that money to Adalius than Asante???? Sorry but atleast Asante gets turn overs. Adalius was damn near useless this entire season and didnt do much last season either. Asante is the better player of the two

and how many times this year has asante been burned gambling on the underneath route looking for said turn-over? How many times this year has he gone into a 1st down marker tackle weak and given up the first on a 3rd down play? Asante is a gambler who is scared of making the sure tackle. show me someone saying he's worth his paycheck and I'll point to the fool

your not makeing a very good point cause eagels fans all so think that Donovan McNabb, is the worst QB in the NFL and andy reid, should be fired.

samuel is so bad that hes 35 INT since he has been in the NFL are the most by any DB just because teams throw hes way dose not mean they beat him deep ever time the eagels all so have brown at CB so team have to throw at samuel some times

i don't see how you can love the seymour trade even if it is a top 5 pick in 2011 IMO i don''t think it will even be a top 10 pick.

and even if it is how will that top 5 pick help them win a SB when brady is 34 moss is 35 and welker is 30 and one full year back from a ACL

The first bolded statements...well you sober folks can figure that out. The last one simply must come from a drunk man...
You need a breathalyzer for your keyboard my friend :singing:

Neither Samuel nor Adalius deserve to remain with the team. Samuel is really bad. What can you do with a cornerback who refuses to tackle? Then you toss in a big salary. It would have been a horrible decision to keep him at big pay. Thomas needs to get out of town at the money he's making.

Can someone give a summary of what we actually have going FOR US, heading forward, instead of the other way around? This place reeks of negativity as of late.

Heck this place can get ridiculously negative when the Pats are winning! Having just lost in the playoffs (yes, we're talking payoffs), the entire "WE'RE DOOMED" crowd has appeared and is spreading their woe juice throughout every nook and cranny of this board.

Boy, that hindsight thing is pretty incredible. Should we have also drafted Gregg Jennings and not picked Kevin O'Connell? Oh, and in 02 I bet you think we shouldn't have signed Steve Martin.

Of course we weren't better off giving the money to Adalius. But if you can find me ONE person on this message board who though bringing AD here was a bad move back in 07, I will send you a ten dollar bill.

Adalius Thomas was the prize player of that free agency year, and truth be told his 07 season was pretty good. Choosing a linebacker who was playing well over a gambling, non-tackling CB who had just dropped 19-0; you have to see that the correct decision was made.
