Yes. Guys like Allworth, Bilitnikoff have less stats but won in a different era.
My point is that there are WRs with better numbers than WW that will never get in the HoF b/c they have not won.
Absolutely. With him it's just less of a conversation, he definitely gets in at some point IMO.Ty Law too.
speaking of devalue position, what are david ortiz' chances? He is the greatest slot receiver of all time by a pretty large margin, so he has a case. Unfortunately they do devalue this position in Canton, so it's unclear if he gets in. I think he should (there are too many qbs that aren't very good in the HoF, not enough good receivers in general).
Still, within football circles, it's pretty clear that if you were making a team with the 'best' players of all time, i'm pretty sure he'd be on the roster.

IDK, I don't think Super Bowls are as important to WRs as other positions. You got guys like Cris Carter, Tim Brown, and Steve Largent in there without any Super Bowls and a bunch of guys with one or less.
Largent being in gets Welker consideration - though even though its two WRs it's an apples to organges comparison in some ways
The bottom line is that Welker has more catches than Largent in a shorter period of time, and repeatedly bested him in yards per season - though Largent had more "big" deep catches and seasons with 18 yard per catch averages and that may have helped him
I view him as one of the best to play his position and thus I'd say he's earned a spot, especially given his balls out style of leaving it all on the field
But I'm going to guess he's not going to make the cut
I actually agree.Doubtful, had SB 42 been closed out he'd prob have been MVP and it's a bit of a different story....weird because nothing he did had to change for that to happen.
Look at how long it took guys like Chris Carter and Tim brown and they outclass welker. I mean they both have twice as many touchdowns as he does.
Freaking terrel Owens didn't get into the hall this year and we think welker has a chance
