Weird Ted Johnson Question

Apologies for the oddness of this question...

I've somehow been dragged into trying to settle an argument about whether Ted Johnson's mother-in-law is some kind of famous author -- romance novels or somesuch.

Some quick Googling didn't reveal anything. Anyone know?

The thing I will remember about him is probably the romance novels.

For those that might not know, Ted was a big fan of bodice-ripping romance books-- stuff with titles like Captive Heart.

I could never equate that bull-necked heat-seeking missile that I saw on the field with a guy that really likes that kind of reading off it. He was once engaged to Danielle Steel's daughter but they called it off.
