Can't lay that one on the ST coach, his 11 guys were set. Problem was Uche jogging to the sideline with zero urgency and having one foot on the field when the ball was snapped. That's one "special teams miscue" that had nothing to do with the special teams unit.

I would imagine it's Gonzalez on Diggs for the first time. That should be interesting.

Mixon would be a problem for us but he has a wonky ankle.

Mostert also had a wonky something or other and our defense still rolled out the red carpet and bowed on both sides of it as he ran past.

They haven't backed themselves in a corner I don't think they care if Schefter and Reiss are wrong. Hopefully you're not right but I too wonder if this will actually be the week or not.

No I mean they should have started Maye this past week instead of next. Thats what I mean by backing themselves in a corner. Not because of some reporters saying something.

Houston’s defense has allowed 13 more points than the patriots defense this season, they’re giving up 23 points per game. People acting like they are the steel curtain or 86 bears. If Maye’s career is going to be determined by which defense he faces in his nfl debut then he was doomed from the start anyway.

As rumored, it is time for Uche to go. The speculation is that there are teams interested in him. We aren't. He needed to beg to be signed at a contract lower than what he was offered elsewhere.

Yeah.. that was bit harsh.. I think he's a good back up he's a great guy, team leader. But there is nothing in his game that scares a DC.. I one was admittedly hard on zap.. I think he should have been kept and the 8 million spent on Brissett to a better LT.

As an optimist, we have no chance in this one. As will be the case going against any good team with brissett. Id just like to see better defense, at least peppers should be back.

If this new OL combo shows more improvement thatd be great too.

Having Drake Maye’s first career start vs. a superbowl contender with Hunter/Anderson vs. Lowe/Jacobs is dysfunctional.

Well I guess that means Drake will be playing on Sunday.

Balestrieri gave coaching a "D" last week. Such a generous soul. At both the play-by-play, in-game level and with respect to strategic decisions pertaining to rebuilding the team and culture, the coaching staff deserve an F, with the possible exception of the ST staff. This is largely on the HC, of course, who bears overall responsibility for the team. With the HC title and the big bucks which comes with it come big responsibilities. To this point - and, yes, I do believe Mayo is entitled to the entire season to show what he can do - he is not up to the job. Because of the Krafts' silly and irrelevant fondness for the guy, and because they would be unwilling to acknowledge a mistake, Mayo will likely remain HC for at least another year. Remember when we used to mock the Jets for their persistent foolishness and failure? Enjoy.

Different QB calls for Scheming differently I am sure a AVP is going to design a Scheme that helps Maye protection wise. I am sure if Maye breaks contain he would probably find a WR open for chunk yardage.
