I am not trying to be doom and gloom, but I am expecting a close game vs the Saints. The Saints are not that bad, good speed at WR and Rattler is playing well, he gets the ball out quick and can hit all the throws. Their OL is good in 4 spots, the OTs are young but playing well, Penning and McCoy are above average. They have 2 really good RBs. I don't think this is going to be a cake walk like many think.

They play a lot of zone on defense and Maye has been really good against the Zone and really recognizes coverage rotations. Sanker and Kool-Aid are very good, but the others are meh. I anticipate Maye throwing a pick. Their pass rush is not other worldly but they are able to generate pressure on the QB(they got 3 sacks on buffalo). They can be run on by normal teams, but probably not us. lol

Just random thoughts.

Agree on most.
Kamara had a good game against SF but has been quiet otherwise, averaging under 4 yds a carry and he's banged up.
I don't want to underestimate him, but I don't think he's quite the guys he use to be.

The Saints might indeed have some quality in the roster. That said, a good team should be able to dispose of them. Of course - anything can happen at any given time. Hell, Brady lost to more bad Miami teams than one would ever imagine. But, a real winner should defeat the 2025 Saints.

^ that’s realistic not doom and gloom. We’re not a team yet that can assume we’ll walk over anyone.

Last time we played the Saints we got trucked.

Kamara has an ankle injury so he’ll probably be limited if he plays at all. Their back to watch is Miller.

No doubt that Vrabel and his Ernie Adams guy are all over this.

Games are won in the trenches, and the Saints are ripe for abuse on both their OL and DL.
I agree with you on the Saints OL. Interior is going to bruised and battered by Barmore, Tonga Too Stout, and the freakishly athletic Williams. Cesar Ruiz coming back, as is expected, should help. But Penning is still trying to figure it out at LG. Ruiz played at Michigan—Onwenu was his replacement—and was much more ballyhooed coming out. He was pick 24 in the 2020 draft. But his career has only been hoo-hum. A disappointment really.

Center Erik McCoy the real mccoy. When he wants to be. But he’s injured over half the time.

Dillon Radunz, the failed Titans pick (53 overall in 2021; Mike Vrabel, what happened? That was your call.) is back and provides decent backup at all four OL positions except for center.

But the Saints D line? I think they can hold their own. Davon Godchaux seems to have gained 15 pounds of good weight since his Patriots days and is playing well.

The biggest development other than Gonzo possibly not playing, is the reemergence of Chase Young on a limited basis the past few days in the Saints practices. He looked great in TC.

He had a serious knee injury a few years ago. ACL and ruptured patella tendon. Doctors took some of his patella tendon from his good knee and grafted it onto the ruptured one. I don’t think he was 109 percent until this summer.

But he hurt a calf in practice before the first regular season.

He could come on strong. Like Diggs, his head is on straight. And he’s an elite physical talent. Like Diggs.

I was feeling really good about this week until reading this thread. Now I'm worried. Is there such a thing as a "Fan Trap Game?" I think I need get off my complacency and get my head in the game here.

Patriots should win. Easily. Saints are the least talented team of the league.

And the QB situation is a mess. Spencer Rattler sucks.

He's 1-11 as a starter with 11 straight losses before last week. Lol. In fact, 7 of his 11 loses were at least by 10 points and half his losses are by 20 points or more. He averages 230 yards passing a game and 1 TD. He has no business being a starting QB.

This is a game the Pats should win after beating Buffalo on the road.

The Titans reins were very much still in Robinson's hands in '21

You play how you practice.
You need reps.
Drop what youre doin' and get in that Lazy-Boy NOW!
First, warm--ups: Crack open that beer and I wanna see you do curls with it. Let's go!
Next, you need vocal reps. Turn the TV to something you hate and start yelling at it,
Loud! No louder!!! I can't heeeeeaaarrr you!
Work on your timing: piss breaks only during commercials.
Now this last part of practice is ONLY for GDT experienced veteran whiners. You're obviously not one so you get to sit this part out. For the whining vets:
Peel some onions(even though you don't have any) and start crying your eyes out!! Cmon shed those f'n tears, maggot!
Now start whining. No on 2nd thought, youre already an expert whiner. No need to waste reps. You're ready to go. Just finish with your favorite chant " Woe is me! Woe is me!"
