Man defense doesn't really make sense against the Patriots right now. They don't have that one or two big guys like Kelce or Moss. They have a bunch of capable receivers. Drake Maye completed passes to 10 different receivers in week one and 9 in week two. They are intentionally keeping everyone involved and not creating any patterns for other teams to focus on. Drake Maye is proving that he can go through progressions and when the line gives him time and a pocket to step into, he will find the open man. We're seeing the first few pages of the play book right now. Pop will have a big game or two

Maye torched defenses last year on scrambles where CBs had their backs turned in man coverage. I think that is a big driver as well as defenses challenging Maye's ability to diagnosis post snap movements and making proper reads against zone.

I knew 15 years ago he was a bad coach, and I'm just a dude on my couch.
I remember we use to spread them out with Brady and just shred them. Game after game, same result.
Tomlin was asked about it and he said "we do what we do, and we aren't going to change". I knew right then and there what kind of coach he was. Refused to change his defense against us despite the poor results.
He hasn't changed. Wasn't a good coach then, isn't a good coach now.
Pittsburgh never changes what they do offensively or defensively.. they had some great players over the years... they should have more championships then they currently have.. I hope they continue to do the same thing Sunday.. we all know Rodgers is a 1st ballot HOF.. but he's 41.. and the plan will have to be double DK and pressure Rodgers. What say you??

We should really be 2-0 right now.. the raiders looked like the raiders we all know.. the patiots beat the patiots in week 1.. if we can get a win at home Sunday this team could go on a run...

I can live with that, figured especially early on this is going to be a bumpy ride. This will take a while to hit our stride. My goal is to be 2-3 hitting that easy stretch in October and then actually be able to take advantage of the weaker teams.

This is a big game to win, at home against a team struggling. Based on ESPN power rankings the Patriots play 7 times against teams ranked 25-32 (Pats are 24). Jets twice, Miami, Panthers, Saints, Titans, Browns.

4 games vs top 10, Bills twice, Ravens and Bucs.

2 weeks into season and only Seahawks, Packers and Rams have 2 games where opposing team scored under 20 in both games. Need to score in the 20's

Depends if Gonzo is back and 100%. If so, perhaps he travels with DK.

Pressure is the key. Despite Rodgers having some positive plays outside the pocket week 1, he just doesn’t move like he used to. You can see when he starts to feel pressure he gets way more skittish than he did in years past. So yes please, hit him early and often.

Upon review, the Pats may need to move Spillane to the Tavai type of role.
He's getting killed in coverage. (9/8/96 yards/TD) And he's been missing so many tackles.
I'd like to see more of Gibbens at LB on passing downs. Or even Dugger playing that cover ILB.

We really need White to come back hungry & healthy.
Landry may not be a 3-down Edge. He's undersized, and was not impactful until the 4th when the OL wears down and they were in hurry up. And Chaisson tries hard, but rarely finishes.

To be fair, he won’t have to cover the likes of Bowers and Achane every week. I don’t know for certain if he had any assignments on Bowers, but if so, he’s the best receiving TE in the NFL. And Achane is and incredibly tough cover for a LB. I would think he would fair better against the Warrens and Friermuths of the world.

They started Duggar but at the end they put in Mapu when it was clearly passing downs and he had an interception. I think it might be Mapu but I have no real way to know.

Agreed. If we can ride the momentum and the offense continues to move the ball and score with efficiency we can attain 2-3 more wins to he about to sustain the blow from buffalo coming in week 5.. I'm going to chalk that up as a loss.. we will play well but Allen just will feast on our Secondary. Panthers-Cleveland-saints.. need to be all Ws.

Yeah his rush moves are very spastic as another poster had said in the gameday thread (you may have been the one that said this). He reminds me of the King of this move - Cassisus Marsh. That dude was always acting spastic and then would jump in on the tackle to act like he did something only to get back up and start doing his karate kicking celebration. That guy was trash.

Chaisson has a nice speed rush, but T's catch on very easily to it. He needs to add some other set up moves to keep the T's guessing.

Chaisson is the reason Landry and milt Williams have been able to collapse pocket..he has a great get off and uses his athletic ability to stress OTs..

If gonzo somehow does return to practice this week.. I think he will be slowly ramped up.. to come in after not playing since late July to cover DK will be a huge ask for him.. ramp gonzo up slowly.. double DK and ask Davis to hold up on the other guy... at some point guys have to stop giving up so many big plays.. it's deflating to the DL those guys have been creating havoc.. we don't lead the league in sacks by mistake..

Nice to see Rham being the Rham again: he started out really well last year too then tailed off. IF Diggs get back to his playing level we're going to be tough. I think if we go on a roll we're going to be competitive against the Bills and Bucs. IF Drake Maye gets better so will the entire Team.
