From a couple of tweets and articles I just read, there is mutual respect between BB & RW and Wayne is playing with a chip on his shoulder to prove doubters wrong. Always good to have another one with a chip to play with.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little concerned. He's played his entire career in a very simple offense, so we don't really know either way how quickly he can pick a playbook up. And by coming in in week 2 of the preseason, we're not giving him a ton of time.

He's by all accounts a really hard worker, though, so I'm sure there won't be any lack of effort. Wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't see the field much for the first couple weeks, though. We'll just have to wait and see how quickly he picks things up.

Wayne will be fine. Say what you want about Manning but if you weren't on the same page as he was or ran perfect routes you didn't get the ball.

Wayne clearly did just fine.

Reggie Wayne is a future Hall of Fame WR with great speed (if not now but certainly at the peak of powers) and fantastic hands. But above all he is an elite route runner. I am confident that he will be extremely diligent in ensuring he knows exactly where he needs to be, even though the schemes are unlike anything he has seen before. I am not expecting him to be WR#1 or WR#2 or even Slot receiver, but I am expecting him to contribute and demand decent coverage assignments from opposing defenses. His route running is a key component to opening up the field for himself and more importantly his fellow receiving corps and running backs.

The general consensus on Tom Moore offenses, at least, is that they mostly boil down to superior execution of relatively simple concepts. So yes, pretty simple when compared to all of the reads that the Pats' offense expects WRs to make.

I hear ya! Do a Criss Cross with Harrison, Button Hook in front of hydrant, Seriously i'm sure it wasn't a cake walk with PM either. PM demands precision and Wayne should be at least disciplined. True Pats Offense is like no other with multiple schemes, etc. but I see Wayne being All In well at least BB saw something to give him $500 grand Guaranteed up to 3mil incentives.
