Washington releases veteran running back Adrian Peterson

So it looks like they went with a youth movement with a more pass-catching style offensive system moving forward.

I wouldn't mind seeing them bring Peterson in, he's a true pro and had nearly 1,000 yards last year (4.2 ypc) on a pitiful Redskins team, and ran for 1,200 yards the year before that.

Dude still has some left in the tank, he's always been "different" in terms of being a physical specimen.. lets go after him BB!

Living in DC I heard this last night. IIRC the local radio announcing his cut said he gained a total of about 1900 yards over the past two seasons for the Redskins (as they were called then). Wondered if he might have enough in the tank to be worth a try.

Pats had him in for a tryout a few years ago. Definitely a specimen but the guy wants 25 touches a game. That why he was in Washington lol. His tenure with the saints made it clear he does not want to be a role player.

Kraft should whip out his checkbook for AP now!

5 years ago, I'd be all over this like white on rice...

Now? Not sure he brings anything that Michel/Harris don't already....

Maybe at this stage in his career getting any touches instead of being involuntarily retired might be appealing to him. And a shot at a ring, even if the inhabitants of this board would be doing their best to convince him there’s a snowball‘s chance in Hades of that.

So much for that ring thingy...AP's chances of scoring one with the Loins are about as good - or as bad really - as his chances would've been
with us...
