VIDEO: Flashback From Today Back in 2001 - Big Win Over SD

Stats from that game - Brady went for almost 400 and 2 TDs that day:

Offense and defensive starters from that one:

Like the team photo from yesterday...definitely brings back some memories

The thing that jumped out to me right away is how much time Brady had to throw the ball during that game. Mac would be jealous.

Brady had the better OL... Heck, Mac had a better OL at Alabama than he does here... Better WRs too...

I flew back from Bosnia the day before this game, and watched it in Manchester (can't remember the name of the sports bar) with a couple buds from my last Air Force assignment. Great game, very good food. TB took over the team that day.

Ha, I'll never forget going into work Sunday and a coworker said "I'll never turn off a Patriots game again". He turned it off after the mishandled punt. Lee Johnson was released the next day I think. Brady had "it" already that year. Game manager my ass

Was that Brady's first game with 50 attempts?

I am still fascinated with records of all NFL players for games with 50+ attempts. Brady's record compared to rest of the history of NFL is unreal.

Here it is.

Brady has 14 wins in games with 50+ attempts. Next best is 5 wins tied by Marino and Moon. That's quite shocking!! Just another insane record where Brady is just a crazy distance ahead of the 2nd best ever.

And for playoffs wins. Even more insane?

There have been only 9 instances in history that a QB won a playoff game while throwing 50+ passes. Brady has 6 of those 9 instances.
