I think it was Dan Patrick that gave this stat on the radio, if I can remember the number right:

26 times in playoff history (in the Super Bowl era) a QB has attempted over 50 passes. None of these QBs has ever won that game --- until Brady vs. SD.

Actually didn't Brady have 52 vs Oakland?

Did I see that article in SI.com? Wasn't it the one with Elliott or Elias ratings?

I heard that stat somewhere else as well......all that matters is the W

brady's a pansy. bledsoe once threw 70 passes in a game.

Yeah, but it took him overtime and it was against Minnesota. In my mind it was only the second greatest comeback against the Vikings. In the early 70's the Pats were down to the Vikings late in the game and Ron sellers caught a pass on the two yard line while being tackling and 'willed his way' across the goal for the TD and the victory. He blew out his knee in the process and I don't know if he ever played another down.....IIRC...

Brady's the first QB to throw >50 passes in a non-OT playoff game to actually win that game.

The stat *must* mean non-OT games. In addition to the Snow Game and Brady's 52 tosses, Kosar threw something like *60* passes in the 2OT win over the Jets in the 1986 postseason.

Regards,
Chris

I also believe I heard someone talking head mention that Brady and Manning (in the KC game ) became the first QB's to throw 3 INT's in the playoffs and win.
