Vermeil Says Talk Of SpyGate Tarnishing Belichick “Not Legitimate”

Regardless of these latest comments, I've always felt that Vermeil was a stand-up guy.

His tit-for-tat with Felgie reaffirms my belief.

Excellent find. Thanks.

Found it mildly amusing when Jamie Dukes cited Marshall Faulk as someone who has not gotten over the CameraGate incident and may, in fact, use it to justify why his team lost to the Patriots in SB XXXVI (hello bitter Steelers and Eagles fans!).

Jamie Dukes said pretty much the same thing. When Marshall starts to complain about it I tell him to quit making excuses for not getting the job done.

mazz is so annoying how he frames his question behind pats fans.

You know, I got caught up listening to Felger late last summer and early fall and finally followed the advice of many on this board; I stopped listening. Aaaah. Definitely reduced at least one aspect of stress in my life. Talk radio has just degenerated into so much contrived "edginess" it's become not worth listening to (mostly, I know there are a few exceptions).

FWIW, I walked past a co-worker's area today and he was listening to Dale Arnold on 'EEI railing on how so few people out there understand that the Herald report on the walkthrough tape was inaccurate. So many fans — and worse: media — forget that little detail. I believe he even pointed out that what the Patriots did was not illegal — it's where they did it. Yeah, they should have known better but the fallout was disproportionate — a trend Goodell has continued in his role a commish.

(As an aside: I wonder when guys like Harrison and Bruschi, who have a media voice, will actually address the whole thing. Maybe they have and I just missed it.)

So all the fans from other teams and players from other teams, Marshall Faulk being one of them, who won’t let it go, Marshall won’t let it go, but it helps Marshall feel better about the fact that they didn’t get the job done.

Love how Dukes has the nuts to call out Faulk. Don't they share the desk at times on the NFL Network?

Funny, that the coaches of the teams that have the most players biatching how the Pats stole their Super Bowl wins are the ones who think the whole thing was blown out of proportion. Both Vermeil and Cowher have said that there are/were teams that have done the same or far worse and it isn't as big of a deal as people make it while their players (Faulk, Warner, Joey Porter, etc.) cry about how their legacies were stolen.

As for Mazz, he is the perfect counter balance to the Big Show. But that isn't a compliment to either of them. The Big Show are mostly blatant homers. Mazz acts like he is morally superior to Pats fans and likes to taunt and ridicule them for their "homerism".

My favorite quote of the story:

"So all the fans from other teams and players from other teams, Marshall Faulk being one of them, who won’t let it go, Marshall won’t let it go, but it helps Marshall feel better about the fact that they didn’t get the job done."

pats haters must cringe when they here coach's like **** put the smackdown
on hategate, with an authoritative level headed answer. loved it!

Thanks ****

that reply won't be on espn or any major headlines

Felger and Mazz are all about drama queen radio.
Spygate is a much bigger issue with the Boston media than it is with media or fans from around the country.

Sure it is. It's a reflection of Boston's feelings on the matter.

For the rest of the country, "hategate" (I like that one) was a cheap thrill and a way to stick it to the best franchise in the NFL, but for Pats fans, it's a big deal to have the team put in that kind of light; especially when it's not deserved.

I just saw Michael Holley interview Felger live from Dallas on Comcast and, not surprisingly, Felger praised Goodell for his contributions and honesty in the King story and castigated Belichick for Spygate (a contradictory term, by the way). Not surprisingly, he made no mention of Vermeil's interview. What a puke, and I don't mean Holley or Vermeil.

In fairness, Felger spent most of the day yesterday stating that no one else around the country cared about what Goodell said about Spygate and he didn't hear any of the national guys talking about it.

LOL at Dukes' response. The guy loves to get under people's skin. Nice shot he gave Marshall there
