I forgot to post my favorite annual thread when it happened, so here it is:

Division Titles

1. New England Patriots (19)
2. Miami Dolphins (13)
3. Buffalo Bills (10)
4. Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts (6)*
5. Houston Oilers (4)**
6. New York Jets (4)*** ^

*The Colts left the AFC East in 2002.
**The Oilers left the AFC East in 1970.
***The Jets have been a member of the AFC East since 1960.
^ Mathematically improbable suckage.

The Jets lose the tiebreaker to the Oilers since they have failed to pass them despite playing in the division for an additional 46 seasons.

I much would have rather seen Miami go to the AFC South since they're the most southern team in the League.

If you look at the two conferences, the NFC alignments make total sense* and the AFC makes little.

Move Baltimore to the East, Indy to the North, and Miami to the South.

*Edit: Though I guess you could make a case for swapping Atlanta and Dallas.

The NYFL needed to get PEDton into an all expansion division with indoor stadiums, good weather and a pancake schedule.

It is a helluva lot better than what it used to be when Atlanta, New Orleans and Carolina were all in the west. I like the fact that they allowed rivalries to continue even if they had to sacrifice some geographical accuracy. Dallas is the perfect example of a team that is not in the region of their division, but they belong in the NFC East to maintain all those rivalries.
