Immediately after the draft, I was critical of the Pats for not pursuing

the higher rated UDFA's more strongly. I was told it would be foolish

to pursue these players because they stood no chance of making

our team. It's interesting to read this morning that 36 of them (15% of

all rookies) have made the final roster. Our old pal in Dallas has three of

them: a middle linebacker and two wide receivers.

Yep - and UDFA are also going to have a better chance on lesser rosters.

I wonder how many Draftees made it out of all...and a percentage...

Until the Patriots management starts to come even SOMEWHAT unglued, until we have, say, even ONE season where an UDFA fails to make our Super Bowl-caliber roster, I'm not going to panic about the UDFA rate. Ours is better than most despite the fact that our roster is more competitive than most.
