Although no-one here wants to even consider it -- it is possible, that Tom did in fact lie and essentially got caught. This is something that makes most of us sick, but the report could be interpreted that way. And if Tom did lie, was it just to the public before the Super Bowl in his "nervous" press release, or did he also lie to Kraft and BB and basically set them up? There would be some ugly ramifications if this is what happened, and certainly Kraft's response to the Wells report toned it down a bit as if he may just wanted this thing to end and to move on (accepting the punishment).

The other thing is -- doesn't the truth really lie with McNally and Jastremski? Unless someone bought them off or made them sign something to never speak publicly about it, they probably are going to get offered enough cash at some point (think TMZ) to say what really happened. If in fact TB didn't know (or balls were never tampered with), you think these guys would come forward and say something.

There is no way TB is going to sue the league and everything else if he knows he lied and these guys could spill the beans further. If this is the case, TB should probably come clean, apologize and man up. If he didn't cheat or lie, I would expect him to fight this as hard as he can.

Prepare for a mass wave of dislikes and accusations that you are a troll. And hell, maybe you are with just 7 posts in 5 years. But unfortunately I see a good amount of things in this thread that I agree with. Look, I want to believe Tom. I really do. Make no mistake, I completely see that he's getting f**ked by the Wells report. And it's clear that the Wells report is biased and has giant holes in it everywhere. But I can't help but feel that Brady knowingly skirted the rules. And unfortunately that sucks, and it means that no vindication can ever come. Do other QBs do it? I'm sure they do. But because of the witch hunt he may have been the one to get caught and nothing can now change that.

I was so wrong about what was going to happen with the Wells report that I still feel completely blindsided. So I need more time to process things. But I don't feel good about it at all. I don't feel the same as every other poster here who is rallying with Tom and the team. The ones who read the txt messages and insist they are being taken out of context. I read them and get depressed because I fear they are damning evidence.

I hope I'm wrong. I really do. That's why I want Tom to just lay everything out on the table. Hold nothing back. Because as far as I can see he has nothing to lose at this point.

Brady didn't lie. This will come out eventually.

I want to know if he lied or not. This report, tells me zip. Zippo. Other than the fact that the league is a sham and this report is also. So, according to Merloni, in his opinion Brady said I want them at 12.5 no matter how you get it there. So he's guilty. Guilty of what!? Wanting the balls legal? So much crazy going on no one sees there is no link to Brady. Wow, he never talked to this guy. Ever. Suddenly the the morning after it breaks he is calling that person? What a novel concept! Find out what happened. Genius!

People need to accept the fact that this report does not show any connection to Brady. They took sentences out of context and tell you it's baaaaaaaaad. Whatever. It's hard to look at people who take this report at face value. You wonder how they graduated at any level of education.

In the end, this has driven out into the light the ignorant, misguided and spiteful. If I were on trial I'd hate to look across and see those people on the jury. I'd know I was fu**ed, all the prosecutor would have to say is we think he's guilty, here's some confusing out of context informations to prove it.

Not saying he didn't do it. All I'm saying is based on this way this report was done, I highly doubt it and that's the unfortunate part. No resolution, one way or the other.

I see a lot of frustration with a very obviously flawed report. It's comical almost. If the thread starter is called a troll it probably results from the low post count. No question that this was not an investigation to find out what happened to preserve the "integrity of the game" and let the chips fall where they may, this was a targeted investigation to get Tom Brady. I'm not saying the is no chance Tom cheated, but I think it is very unlikely. For me, Brady has to come out strong and defend himself unequivocally in the next few days or I will begin to have doubts.
