Two things can be true:

People are obsessed with a "signature" win. They act like the dude has never won an NFL game in his three year career. Who gets to decide when a win is "signature" or not?
And most of you are obsessed with a "signature losses". Too many of those against good Teams same ole tune... it won't get any easier in the coming weeks.

Lol, Mac throws for 300 yards and 3 tds with 1 int that should have been a catch. People saying Mac isn't playing well enough.

Faulking idiots.
Hate to say it but it seems like the Eagles was looking past us and we didn't make em pay. That said the Dolphins and Jets won't be looking past us the next two weeks. Next week is a Must Win Starting 0-2 will be the kiss of death for this BB Team 12 is Officially Retired.

The GOAT coming to Foxboro in 2021 with the Super Bowl champion Bucs and not kicking in Belichick's and our team's faces in that game was 100% a "moral victory".

I don't think this is a moral victory, this was losing a winnable game. Sure you could say it's a moral victory that there's evidence the team is better than last season but I think most of us knew they would be anyway.

The silver lining is it's an NFC loss so it doesn't hurt as much as an AFC loss would.

Tom Brady retired? No f@cking way? When did that happen? Thank god we have you on this site, otherwise we would totally miss out on important things like this. And your input that winning is important was also some really deep dive stuff, keep up the great content.

We should have won given the circumstances. We choked at the end.
They all made mistakes, they all could have played better. It was a team loss, a close loss against one of the best teams in the league. The made mistake all throughout the game, I wouldn’t say they choked it away at the end. They started the game with a 16 point deficit.

Staying on topic of the thread title - 2 things can be true...

1. Mac looks better, offense is improved, rookies show promise, we will have more opportunity to win close games.
2. Mac has not won a close game, many offensive players made mistakes to contribute to this clutch loss, they all need to get over that hump and execute a legit 4th qtr. comeback and win a close game.

Laughable is the negative nancy contingent here assuming the Pats would get their hat’s handed to them against the powerful Eagles prior to the game, get slaughtered… now here arguing “there’s no such thing as moral victories” after a 5 point loss where the team played well outside of some fixable mistakes.

If we had won by a point, they’d be here complaining how we should have won by twenty if not for all the mistakes.

You are all choosing misery when the point of being a fan is to find some joy. Why are you even here? The Pats owe you nothing. You act like entitled children.

I got over the game as soon as it was over and went on about my day. There was no "misery" here. In fact, I can't remember the last time I cared so little after a tough loss. I expected and predicted them to lose and I was more than fine with the outcome. That is the complete opposite of entitled.

If anyone is acting like a child it's people like you that can't handle someone being anything other than positive about the team on a message board without complaining and throwing personal insults. Saying your opinion about the team, rather positive or negative, has literally zero to do with entitlement. You are just throwing out words that don't even fit.

What a weird response. The Pats owe us nothing?

If I'm a fan, I'm dedicating multiple hours every Sunday watching the team play. This whole damn team/league earns money because we watch them play and generate advertising revenue.

So damn right I'm going to be pissed off if the team keeps on disappointing me. I'm sorry if it's too negative, but there's nothing entitled about wanting the team you root for to stop making the same mistakes.

Yeah, I thought we would get smoked.

So I commended the o-line for playing really well, and I will acknowledge that the defense played incredible

But when you have multiple chances to win the game at the end and still fail to do so again... including a questionable coaching decision to not kick a field goal... after having a lot of games like this over the past few years, it's hard for some to be excited.

Sorry, but at the end of the day it's another game against a good team that we came up short in, no matter how you slice it.

I didn’t expect an undefeated season, I projected 10-11 wins.

I liked what I saw, even if I didn’t like the outcome.

And I didn't expect an undefeated season either.

So you wouldn't be a wee bit angrier if they had been blown out?

I've consistently predicted 10 wins, and had this one as a loss, so it doesn't affect my projection. In fact, when I saw the injury list yesterday afternoon, I thought we'd get killed, so to me it was a way better performance than I expected.

I can see being frustrated we didn't get the W, but the season just started and now it doesn't feel like a big stretch at all to say this will be a 10 win team.

You don’t “ hate to say it,” you love saying it, and have been doing the always negative routine for years and years. You may not understand this but criticism that comes from those who are always critical is pretty much useless.

Great question. I expected it, given the o-line injuries. So I like I said, I will praise the o-line and defense for playing well. But seeing them come that close and fail again hurts a lot, maybe even more. I got teased personally
