Two Key Players No One Is Talking About

If it weren’t for the fact that he is still only 23 I would have been done with him, but that’s still really young, so give him one more shot.

I am still holding out some hope that Thornton's problems thus far had a lot to do with poor coaching and with hopefully better coaching he can turn his career around. If he can and lives up to the potential we saw in training camp his rookie season, he is the perfect WR for Maye.
Can anyone point to a good receiver (active or retired) with a build similar to his? He just doesn’t look like an NFL receiver.

DeVota Smith is paper thin, even if he's shorter than Thornton. Waddle is also. Jakobi Meyers or Bourne are similar heights and only ten pounds heavier depending how much weight Tyquan put on from now to week one.

He needs to be strong and durable, learning how to fall would help. He should take some Judo.

We'll see if he can carry a good OTA's into camp when the pads come on. I still have faith in the kid, but he's running out of time to prove himself. Thornton deserves a fresh start along with all the young offensive players who endured the last couple seasons… if he sucks he sucks, competition will prove that. He has gobs of talent and they could use a dangerous vertical threat.

If he gained some weight as he’s claimed then he’s probably close to 190 lbs.

- Marvin Harrison was 185
- Chad Ochocinco was 188
- Stephon Diggs was 191
- Devonta Smith was 170 (I dont believe this)
- Will Fuller was 184
- Robbie Anderson (Chosen) was 185

He just looks so much thinner though. He carries the weight differently for sure.

He is not big boned…agree.

“I’ve been putting in work. I feel like I’ve put on a lot of muscle in a lot of areas that need it. I’m just continuing to get bigger,”

Thornton said. “It’s just so I can take more impact. I feel like all my injuries came from the ground — me hitting the ground. So, I can be able to bounce back up when I do hit the ground.”

Thornton, who is noticeably bigger, played last season listed at 185 pounds — a year after weighing 181 pounds at the NFL Combine.

“Just where it’s a balance where I’m not too heavy up top. Just gotta have a good balance of a lot of muscle,” Thornton said. “Target goal probably play at 190 [pounds] the whole season.”

Wow, Chosen is nearly the same body type. Thanks.
