Tom Brady's numbers as of week 14

I think Marino's record is going down, but to Brees.

Given the pass wacky (or pass happy) nature of the NFL these days, it actually is quite an accomplishment for Marino to have set this record in the 80's. Same with his TD record. I know that Manning and Brady broke it, but in a way Marino's numbers are more impressive given the age of the NFL that he was playing in.

Absolutely agree. Today's NFL is basically flag football. Defenses are not allowed to play ANY brand of physical football. I miss the REAL NFL. This is arena ball.

It looks like the 1980's are the equivalent of the 2000's. I think their were significant rule changes geared to help offenses in the 80's, and over time D's caught up, until the major changes in the 00's.

I imagine the 1980s were a product of the major 1978 rules changes. And like you said, it took time for defenses to catch up.

These are OUTSTANDING numbers, easily qualify him for another top 10 best season of all time for a QB. When you consider he doesn't have any real # 1 Wide Receiver, this makes it even more impressive.

Anyone know what his projections are for the season at this rate? We could be witnessing a 5,000 yard passing season for Tom.

I think your joking, right? Moss is done, and if he still has anything left in the tank I would be surprised. Although I do think he may still be better than some NFL WRs in the league now, teams need to rebuild and prepare players for the future and that is the main reason why teams wouldn't bring back a guy like Moss.
