Tom Brady's got muscle???

Doing cardio for an hour or longer is old school. Its more effective to do shorter periods of HIIT.

Depends on what you're trying to do. For a QB, HIIT is probably a little better. For someone trying to run a sub 7 min, 5 miler, HIIT alone isn't going to cut it.
 
An hour of cardio is fine. If anything it's not enough. Your body isn't going to reach it's peak cardio conditioning based on 60 minutes of cardio a day.

Wouldn't it depend on the intensity of the cardio?
 
I wouldn't necessarily follow an NFL quarterback's workout routine anyways. Their goals are often quite different than someone looking to just get nice aesthetics.

When you think of the elite QBs (Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Rivers) none of them are particularly "ripped". Especially Manning...

Yup. I have been doing HIIT for two years now and it's made a huge difference. 25 minutes of HIIT is crazy efficient but the risk of injury is higher which is why I bet his trainer has him doing low impact endurance training. Back in college, when I was busy riding the bench (soccer), my trainers had me running endless miles. I wish they had known about HIIT back then!

The muscle is coming on now that he's getting older. The same thing happened to me when I hit 35 as I am an ectomorph (lanky) like Brady. It's extremely hard to pack on muscle (sans HGH) when you're of this body type but we can run all day and night with no problem so that's a plus!
