So you're in favor of eliminating FA and the cap and smaller competing leagues even featuring undersized slower players in leather helmets? As long as we're clear on what you're advocating...
that's YOUR interpretation...what I meant was the game as it is today, as it was for Dad and grand dad...a physical game of hitting and tackling...but of course you and your 18 K posting jiihad sees the opportunity to blather on in this thread for another 20 or 30 stultifying discourses on contracts and terminology, by putting words in my mouth...screw off.
Brady FTW, I read your entire post a couple of times and I get your viewpoint...I disagree on a a few points but for the sake of brevity, let me just ask YOU a simple question...how about, instead of jumping right into the NFL and legislating, transforming and essentially mutating the sport to assuage the percentage of fans that want to see the type of game you advocate, the sporting public first exerts this sort of change on the game of boxing?
In, essence, a sort of test run to see how the sporting public reacts. Make the boxers wear headgear that approximates what you would for NFL players, garb their fists in oversized, padded gloves and limit fights to say, three rounds. Then you can compile the data vis a vis viewership numbers and everything else attendant to the sport.
I'd guess you'd end up with a corpse for a sport, but I'm interested in what you think.
