Titans made an offer to Stallworth

didnt he already say his first choice is NE...i danno maybe i missed something but he didnt say anything about those other teams...plus who cares, the pats offered him a fair salary for his abilities, if someone offered more they are overpaying and its their loss, not ours....they will pay for it elsewhere

rotoworld said we offered him a one year deal. So did Eagle. I guess if he gets a long term contract from Titans, he's gone.

I heard we offered 6 years 32 Million....

Also I heard he only wants a 1 year deal so he can get back to FA after proving himself...

I dont know but if he wants a 1 year deal to prove himself Miami, Tenn. and San Fran are not the place to prove himself... :bricks:

So that's why he's trying out for the Titans, Dolphins and 49ers and turned down the Pats offer?

To be part of the 2007 Superbowl winning Titans/Dolphins/49er teams?

If so, he is too stupid to play for the Pats
How convenient for you to only cite part of my post.

I said that I think Donte might want to play for a winner, so "I wouldn't count him out, but it doesn't look good." That part in quotes there, which you omitted, was a qualifier.

He MIGHT want to play for a winner, but the temptation of a big-money, guaranteed contract would PROBABLY override that.

Got it?

And do you think that his agent Drew Rosenhaus was the source of that reliable [sic] information?

Next question....

When it comes to agents, free agency, and contract negotiatons, the only thing we know for sure is that, if their lips are moving, they are probably lying.

I'm not so sure, it was confirmed on KFFL. Could be true?

Patriots | Terms of Stallworth contract offer
Thu, 8 Mar 2007 06:18:24 -0800

The Associated Press, citing the Boston Herald, is reporting unrestricted free-agent WR Donte' Stallworth (Eagles) visited the New England Patriots Tuesday, March 6, and was offered a six-year, $32 million deal.

The agents are the source for virtually every "leaked" contract offer. I'm sure Rosenhaus "leaked" the 6 year $32 million offer in an effort to elevate his client's perceived value.

If Donte wanted to play for a winner, why didn't he just take the Patriots offer? He thinks the Titans are more likely to have a winning season than the Pats?

All in fun ...

This makes a lot of sense. While I like Stallworth, this seemed to be a LOT of money for him.

I hope everyone make an offer to Stallworth. As long as he is not playing for the Pats next year, I will be a happy man.

The guy is an injury machine. I research his draft info and notice that he was hurt that year also. So, every darn year, he is hurt and couldn't realize his potential....when is it going to end ? 'til he is 38 ?

Wrong, in 2004, and 2005 he played all 16 games.

well stallworth visited teh pats on monday i believe, visited the titans on wednesday, and he's in miami right now

Donte Stallworth began as a player who supposedly just wanted a year so he could get back into the market because he's had some difficulties of late;an injury and some sort of drug issue unknown to us.
This injured,drug-affiliated player who was just hoping someone would give him a chance has suddenly morphed into Roger Clemens.
If I ever need an agent,I'm calling Rosenhaus.

I wouldn't be so pessimistic. Let the other teams give better offers than the Pats. If he is really serious about getting to a superbowl, he will come here. If he's only interested in the money and the agent USED the Pats to legitimize his abuse problems, then we are lucky he didn't sign and move on...

Good post patfanken! Also, don't be surprised if Pat's offer doesn't have an expiration date of approx. Fri. 3/09, if it hasn't already expired.
