Listening to Sirius they said Crowder will probably not be a first round pick but is better than most of the DEs except for Gaines Adams which stands alone in that position and that he is a very solid pick who should not make it to the 2nd but likely will.

Kirwin says a guy like Belichick despite having a solid front may take a shot on this guy late in the first roundHe puts him as a Patriots type player BB likes.

Could be a surprise when #28 pick comes up if we still have that pick then - certainly I am not expecting a DE early but you never know with this organization thinks at draft day.

He's to small to play DE for the Patriots, and doesn't have the athleticism to play 3-4 OLB. He's about the same size as Spencer who we've been talking about at OLB, but both Spencer & Woodley are more athletic.

If NE drafts a DE in the first round it will either be Carriker (doubt it because he'll be long gone), or Justin Harrell.

If they draft an OLB in the first round it will likely be Woodley or Spencer.

Why pick a player projected to go in the 4th-6th rounds in the 1st?

There must be a really good reason.

I don't know where you read Crowder is a 4th -6th round pick - Hes late second at worst - Some pick him very late in the first as a shocker or as early as a mid second rounder

crowder could have been a first rounder but hes sort of lazy and gives up a lot on playfs

While I haven't seen Crowder as a 4th-6th pick, I have seen him as a late 2nd, early 3rd pick.

He may have 2nd round talent but if that's true he doesn't sound like a Patriot type of player.

If we take an edge pass-rusher in Round 1. I want A.Spencer - Purdue.
With Samuel situation up in air. I see cb and safety in Round 1. Would love to get younger at lb. But, bigger holes to fill. Our starters are fine if you slide Vrabel inside. I'd like to get a potential replacement for Tedi. But, I think that will be a veteran free-agent next year. Not a rook. Edge pass-rusher are much more expensive to find in free-agency. That's why I like Spencer and see him as an eventual replacement for Rosie in a year or two. But, in meantime Spencer gets on the field in obvious pass-rushing situations.
My nickel package;
DE Colvin and Spencer
DT Warren and Seymour
LB Vrabel and A.Thomas
CB Asante and Hobbs
S Rodney and E.Wilson
Nickel R.Nelson my top pick.

Trade down from 28. Pick up an extra 3.
2. CB J.Wilson - Maryland
3a OLB/DE B.Robinson - Texas
3b DE 2-Gapper J.Alford - PSU
