Here are this morning's New England Patriots Links for Thursday March 27th, 2014....

And once again, in those links, Borges shows himself to be an idiot with his "arms race" mentality.

Denver and New England loaded up to beat each other, don't you know?

It's a silly way to look at things.

Denver lost Dumerville last year and replaced him with Phillips. Now Phillips is a free agent - they saw a chance to upgrade with Ware, so they grabbed him. Smart move.

They lost Decker and got what they considered the best move to replace him: Sanders.

They lost Bailey to age, so they nabbed Talib.

Ward was a steal.

For the Pats, they retained their go-to guy from last year and, as they tried to do last year but failed, they added a veteran wide-out in LaFell.

They lost their shutdown corner and Revis became available. Browner was a typical low-risk/high upside BB move.

When you look at the moves both teams have made, they are as much about replacing lost players and upgrading obvious needs as anything else. THis is what team do in the off-season. So, is Cleveland in an arms race with Pittsburgh by signing Dansby and Whitner?

Borges just grates on me, what can I say? He actually had a twitter fight last week where he chided the Pats on winning nothing since Spygate. Think about that: this is a BOSTON sportswriter saying that.

I hated Borges way back to when he had tried to become to BB what McDonough had been to Parcells. When BB gave him the bums rush, Borges goal ever since is to bury BB. He is so transparent. When he was on the Globe I wore out my keyboard writing letters to the Editor of the Sports page and Ombudsman using his columns as evidence of a grudge.

He's a small venal man whom I had the displeasure of meeting once.
