Thoughts: what if the Vikings make the super bowl?

Someone posted a link in this thread from an NFL source earlier this AM that claimed that Minnesota would not only be able to stay at their home facility and practice, but that they’d also be able to use their own locker room, despite being the visitors.

I had heard the former somewhere else, which forces the AFC opponent to practice at the U of Minnesota, but this was the first I’d heard regarding the latter. I don’t know how credible the info is, but it’s something to keep an eye on.

I live in Minneapolis, this is what I'm hearing. It's no big deal. The U is only about ten minutes from the stadium by car, they have nice facilities there. Vikings are in for a dog fight vs New Orleans, I think they lose but if they win I think they beat Atl/Philly.

There is A LOT of "it's destiny!" talk from Vikings fans, I'm trying not to be a **** because my best pals aren't Pats haters and most actually like them--I'm sure it helps that i don't talk trash. But man these fans never learn, they start talking about the inevitability of making the Super Bowl every time they have a good team. It's like 09 all over again here -- nothing will ever top the frenzy that was 98.

I recall one time back when the Bucs were still good that similar questions were asked about what would happen if Tampa Bay made it to the Super Bowl, when that year's game was going to be played there.

At that time it meant that essentially any reference to their being the home team would have to be removed. Any banners, retired numbers, etc. would have to be either covered or removed. Both teams would have an equal number of logos, etc around the stadium. Music after scores and big plays would be balanced and neutral. Same goes for the comments and inflection over the PA from the stadium announcer.

There would not only be no 'fire the cannons' (analogous to the Viking horn), but supposedly the league rules went so far as stating that the Pirate ship in one of the end zones would have to be dismantled to the point of nothing more than a generic wooden deck.

I’d love the Vikings if NE gets there. The Patriots will still get their 27 and Case Keenum can’t get them there.

Please, PLEASE give us the Eagles. It would prove to be the least memorable of Brady's Super Bowls but it would be the best scenario.

I wonder if Zimmer would have them stay in a hotel to avoid all the hoopla for tickets etc.

They won't make it. They'll do something to screw it up. They always do.

Brady has looked so much better after the first 2 garbage drives...but I cant post in GD thread to day it! Gestapo tactics!

Vikings are a curse. They will lose. They're not going to the SB.
