how would he look as a Pat? It seems the Pats are not looking to lock up any FA's to long term deals, going by their reasoning for backing out of the Boldin sweepstakes. So why not Holt? Ive heard a few people mention Mason, well I think Holt is just as good and could probably be had for a small contract.

I'd rather have Holt than Mason, and certainly think he'd take a 1-year deal.

I'm not sure why we are focusing on 1-year deals. Are folks counting on Moss beyond this season? We already have Moss on a 1-year contract.

i dont want an old guy wholl be gone after a year, and then well have TWO holes to fill at WR next year

i want a young guy, wholl be here for the next 4 years...and one wholl contribute right away

Some posters here are believing the Raiders 2011 pick was ment for Julio Jones all along, which I'm guessing is the next stud WR. I'm not sure, but it would make sense for him to replace Moss.

ill take him and Arrelious Benn, in the 2th round. and if holt and moss are gone in 2011. you got benn, Edelman, and welker at 100%

Im all for the Pats drafting a WR early, hopefully in the 2nd. But they need more then just a draft pick. They need to bring in at least 1 FA. And someone who is somewhat proven. Looking at the list of remaining FA's, I dont see anyone who I would want to sign to a long term deal.

Not just Julio Jones, but there's also A.J. Green, Michael Floyd, and Jonathan Baldwin.

Or use that pick on Patrick Peterson (Who's the best CB prospect since Champ), and use our original pick on one of them (Might have to trade up).

...why? It's not 2001 (and even then, Mason was almost as good). Holts knees are done, and he was pretty pedestrian last year in Jax (50 rec, 700 yards, 0 TD). Mason outproduced him in every conceivable way and is in better health. Even being 3 years older, he will hold up longer than Holt if he chooses to play for the duration of his useful life as a player.

Bring him in for the league minimum, see how it goes. At this point, why the heck not.
