Thompkins has been open plenty but for some reason he's Bradys like 3rd read, and the O-line isnt giving much time.

The percentage of drives where Pats go incomplete on fist, run on second, and then pick up the first down is miniscule. Run on first down. If you pass and it's incomplete, you're in for a penny in for a pound. Pass on second.
