Brady probably has a lower completion ratio than Geno. The lack of a 3rd down back is a major deficiency.

The offense may get there by the playoffs. However, the offense seems mediocre as of now. Obviously, we hope to be better as

1) Gronk is healthier,

2) Amendola is back,

3) Vereen is back,

4) Thompkins and Dobson are more reliable, and perhaps even when

5) Washington is back.

BOTTOM LINE

The offense needs to be able to score more than 20 net points against a mediocre team like the jets. I understand that the jets have a fine front 7. They could have been nullified if we had players capable of playing the no huddle for a series at a time. They could have been nullified if the receivers could get open short and long, and be on the same page as Brady.

I'm unsure as to why anybody would have expected otherwise. Brady has been handed the worst offense since 2006. The good news is that Amendola and Vereen will return for the playoffs.

Have you seen the year Danny Woodhead is having in San Diego? Vereen is a very Good player I just hope he's not one of those player who are often injured. We have some turds on this Team who should really be on the PS or Cut Period! Develin and Leon Washington comes to mind. Woodhead wasn't that expensive how many times have we seen him bail Brady out with Big catches. I hope BB learns a lesson two 3rd down RB's are better than one. If Danny Woodhead was on this Team I gurantee you we would be better on 3rd Downs. What would Brady give for those numbers he's putting up in San Diego.

Somebody has to have a 3rd Down Running back they can move I am sick of the Brandon Bolden experiment on 3rd Downs and I am sure Brady is too. We need Desperately a 3rd Down RB who can move the chains and block a little. I would Trade for a players who fills that need Right Now BB!

Belichick chose to have Vereen in Woodhead's role, with Washington as his backup. Obviously, both have been injured. Woodhead wanted more of a role that Belichick had in mind. I'm not sure why you think that Woodhead wasn't "that expensive".

It hasn't been but we have to realize Brady has been throwing to two rookies and Julian edelman.

His top 2 targets haven't been on the field together yet...hopefully this week we finally see Brady with his top 3 receivers on the field in gronk, amendola and edelman

inspite of all the new players and their drops, brady has missed a lot of open pass catchers as well

Personally, I think it's a mistake to pin too much of our hopes for the playoffs on Amendola, who doesn't seem to be able to stay on the field for two consecutive full games.

I think we have to be realistic that he is probably reliable for no more than seven or eight 60 minute games all year. Hopefully, I'll be proven wrong but I don't think it's out of the question that Wes Welker has already exceeded (8 TD's, 44 Receptions, 474 Yards) what will end up as Amendola's full Regular Season production (now @ 0 TD's, 16 Receptions, 159 Yards).

With ONLY 3 teams in the NFL haveing a better record than the Pats, how is this not a GOOD team.....Yes games are not won by just Offence.....it remains a TEAM effort...

they need Vereen back bad and they need Edelman and Amendola to step up this offense and Brady is not the same with out the 3rd down back and slot making plays, better play from the Oline would not hurt as well
