Odds are usually figured in numbers like 2-1 or 5-1 or a million to one. I am sick of those numbers. I am using my own method of figuring the odds now. I figure that the odds of losing tonight's game are about on par with the Chinese getting to the dark side of the moon by February.

You can do the numbers on that if you want.

I don't mean to be disrespectful of the Jags. I happen to like the Jags' style and attitude. I like Del Rio, I like Garrard (great personal story), and I like the idea that the NFL provides high level competition like what the Jags can provide, I like the idea of a new team getting to the top, etc. They're a good, tough team and they work hard. They are making Florida proud.

But there is no way they can beat the Patriots unless the Chinese figure out how to film a moon landing without Stanley (Kubrick). Too bad for the Jags and the Chinese that Stanley is dead. At least with Stanley they would have had a shot. With him dead, the Chinese and the Jags have no shot. That's what I just told my bookie.

My bookie's response? "Whatever".

You see bookies are actually fools who don't know true geniuses when they see them coming.

Lay off the drugs sonny.

The chances of the Pats losing tonight are remote.

The chances of the Pats losing this game are ZERO. Sit back and enjoy. They are going to murder this team.

It is threads like this that justifies some hatred towards the bandwagon Patriot fans that lack all football knowledge.

The odds are the Patriots are 2-1 or 3-1. 10-1 you are homer. Saying zero chance, just proves an utter lack of any football knowledge go back to watching baseball.

Tradesports is always interesting on this topic because it's a bunch of sleepless dudes who are betting with their money and not their hearts.

This morning, Tradesports has the bid on a Pats win at 86 (the bid on their covering the 13.5 spread is 48). That says the Pats are 6--1 to win and a little under 50--50 to cover the spread.

Both sound about right to my head, though my heart says there's no way we lose...

Objectively, the chances of the Pats losing are ZERO. Your inability to grasp this speaks to your complete lack of football knowledge.

you're all freaking nuts. the odds for the teams playing are "50/50", "1 in 2", "50%" etc etc etc

having any sense of complacency because "odds are in your favor" is sure disaster. why do you think BB is such a successful coach? big reason is not taking any team or lead for granted.

sports history is littered w/ "odds on favorite" winners that end up losing:

-tyson vs buster douglas
- soviet hockey team vs usa
- our own pats vs rams "greatest show on turf"

etc etc etc

wake up. real winners take nothing for granted. why do u think tiger woods is such a great champion who rarely relinquishes a lead or loses to an upstart? the guy works his tail off, focuses on every shot and plays out every round.

Yes, and that is exactly what this team is all about - that is why they win tonight.

I don't know or care about point spreads, let's just talk winning the game.

Barring fumbles, interceptions, special team melt downs and defensive breakdowns adding up to about 24 points - no way does this team lose.

NO WAY....

Jags can say the same thing, staying in the present and executing is what it's all about

Pony Express: anybody who says the chances are zero has no concept of probabilities.

if you think the chance is ZERO then you should take $500, fly to Las Vegas, and bet your entire life savings on the Pats. you will make tons of money, about $615 for every $100 you bet. or don't spend the $500 and open an account at one of the hundred online sportsbooks.

easy money!!!!!!!
