Daren Stone University of Maine...

Has been moving up draft boards with his combine workouts, though I have actually seen him play and he is impressive.

Big Hitter...Imposing presence who makes recievers think twice. I also read an article in the bangor daily news about Maine's pro day and they have a d-linemen named Matt King who the Pats spent a decent amount of time with...

Here is a link if anyone is interested:

He's played some CB, though it's felt he is too stiff in coverage. Ballhawk, but at least one site indicates he is not an intimidator - which suggests he does need some of Rodney's tough love. I think he's a better second day target, but a nice talent.

King has been on my short list for UDFA OLB signing. He played LB in high school, it doesn't say where, so I can't project him to ILB yet.

DeVito was on my short list for UDFA DE potential, interesting that Pit was looking at him, I would think they are shopping for 3-4 replacements if that is the case.

BOR is correct, he has stiff hips. I'd take him in the 5th, though.

He comes from a long line of stiff hipped people. His great uncle George had to have a hip replaced at a very early age.

I have been saying for 2 months that Stone is worth a fifth or sixth(see my mocks in the "draft games"). He needs good coaching and will be a good ST player until he unstiffs his hips and improves his back peddle - then watch out.

PS. Let's not call him the next Rodney Harrison. There is no next Rodney Harrison.

Matt King played LB for Stoughton, NH but was also a TE (sound familiar).

I could see him being an OLB.

40: 4.69
20: 2.73
10: 1.57
Vertical : 34.5 in.
Broad: 9'10 in
20 yard shuttle: 4.56 (not good)
3 cone drill: 4.06 (very good)

Let's not forget he was #2 in his division as a sack artist.

Well, I was referring to the fact that Vrabel was a TE in High School as well as a LB. But Vrabel went to Ohio State.

Anyways, I think that King could be a practice squadder or push Corey Mays for a spot.

I really like John Wendling as the next Rodney Harrison, or maybe Josh Gattis. For some reason, I think LB is way more important for this team to draft, and there are several good safeties that may be available for us in the third round. LB & CB, in no particular order, should be our priority in the first round. They may throw a curve ball at us and pick a WR or OL with one of their first round picks, or god forbid, a DL or TE, lol. I would love to land Laron Landry in the first round via a trade up, but Laron's brother showed us last year, that you can find a good safety in any round (Dawan Landry was a 5th rounder).
