Someone make Bill and Josh watch this
It’s obvious how this is playing out. Patriots will offer Gordon an incentive laden contract, while other teams will be pony up on guarantees. Considering the guy hasn’t seen a paycheck in two years and is about as unreliable as it gets, he would dumb not to take as much money as he can, and he may be able to avoid offset language voiding his signing bonus, considering his addiction problems. The Patriots have never offered close to that risky of a contract, especially going against a large number of bidders, and they won’t be signing him.
Why bother giving it a shot with Josh Gordon? We have Kenny Britt coming back!
**** not Philadelphia they’d be adding Gordon and Wentz to a super bowl team
At this point of the season..
Britt is actually a more exciting thought than Gordon for the sole reason that he actually was here throughout the preseason and has experience with the playbook. The rumored extension offer from the Pats at least kinda implies that they were satisfied with what he looked like.
With Gordon literally everything would be a projection. Even the question of whether he would show up for practice on any given day.
Now if we were in March or April with lots of time to get Gordon up to speed the situation would be different.

Britt's got over 5,000 yards in his career and 32 TDs. I think that could have been useful on the field yesterday. While I like Britt just fine, has he ever done anything in the NFL to make you think he might have helped them yesterday in any significant way?
That's the difference between Britt and Gordon. Gordon is also more likely to flame out, sure, but Britt isn't much better than what they already have.

The guy hasn’t done anything in two years now.
I'm predicting Bill will sit on his hands as the Eagles grab Gordon, while gifting Brady with Jace Billingsly and Kenny Britt.
