Well, that was the Brady we all know and love. The accuracy was better with a much more solid touch on short- to mid-range passes. Overall, I think the answer to what was vexing Brady a bit down the stretch was the need for rest and getting most of his weapons back.
Honestly, this win was amazing beyond the score. Brady was essentially in Bubble Wrap out there, not taking those cheap hits and sacks that he had been enduring against many of our divisional foes. It ended up working out great that Buffalo got eliminated because, while we would've won a third game against them, it would have also meant that Brady would have gotten knocked around more.
Now the question for the Patriots is whether they'd like to play Pittsburgh or Jacksonville. From the perspective of keeping Brady in good condition, would we rather face Pittsburgh? For my money, my biggest wish is that Pittsburgh and Jacksonville bludgeon each other with a dull hammer and the golf carts run out of fuel in an attempt to triage everyone. But, also let's hope for a clean game!
