I suggest a general-purpose thread for venting about or laughing at the media.

I'm deliberately starting with an innocuous example:
  • It's about the Celtics, not the Pats.
  • The errors are obviously unintentional.
  • The errors -- bolded by me -- are flat-out stupid.
  • It's an AP article, run on the Globe site.
Celtics back on their way up, but how far?

Boston was swept in three games by the eventual Eastern Conference champion Cleveland Cavaliers.

‘‘Obviously, when you’re coaching the Boston and making the playoffs and getting swept in the first round, it’s not a pleasant experience,’’ Stevens said at the opening of training camp.

I just read an article on my NFL Mobile app. The title was "How many more years does Tom Brady hope to play?". I'm not posting the link because screw them but here's the lead up and the part that bugged me:

"On Wednesday, the Patriots star spoke to New York-area reporters on conference call ahead of Sunday's showdown against the 4-1 Jets. Brady was asked how long he intends to continue his career. "Maybe 10 more years, " he replied, via NJ.com.

Brady, 38, is playing some of his best football ever in his 16th season. He's said in the past that he wants to play into his 40s, though he backtracked on the topic last month. He also said he would vote for Donald Trump before walking that back. Brady can be a slippery quote when talking to strangers with digital recorders."

The last three sentences are subtle but are trying hard to add to the media's lust for making Brady look deceitful and dubious. Just unnecessary potshots that have nothing to do with the apparent point of the headline. If you brought it up to any fan outside of New England they could easily say you're being paranoid but they don't pay attention to the thousands of other slanderous anti Patriots articles to know that this was written with an agenda.
