NFL.com news: Rams-Seahawks Week 17 matchup to air in primetime

Though a lot of people will complain, it's the obvious choice to me as the winner makes the playoffs (Wins NFC West) and the loser doesn't. Couldn't ask for a better scenario for the final game of the regular season.

These games were moved from 1pm to 4pm...

AFC South
-Jaguars @ Texans
-Titans @ Colts

Last Wild Card Spot
-Giants @ Redskins
-Bears @ Packers

It's pretty crazy that Seattle has lost 7 of there last 9 games and if they win next week will be NFC West champs...

The play-off implications for that Seattle vs. St. Louis game are understandable, but that could be one ugly football game. The Seahawks have the largest variance in points, meaning they either blow people out or get blown out by a wide margin.

I can see why too... but I'm still not pleased that the winner of this game makes the playoffs with a .500 record at best.

Fortunately for the NFL the way things worked out in Week 16, it made perfect sense in regards to which games should be moved to 4pm and which game gets flexed to Sunday night. Now you have a pair of games to determine a division winner at the same time (Jags, Colts), a pair of games to determine a wild card spot at the same time (Packers, Giants), and a head-to-head matchup which is essentially a playoff game at night: the winner goes on and plays next week, and the season ends for the loser. And then at 1pm you have all the rest of the games as warmups for the above games that are of actual playoff significance.

As mediocre as the Rams and the Seahawks may be, these changes in starting time do make perfect sense.
