Start Joe Milton in Week 18

Out of interest, I'd be genuinely curious to know if a team has gone into the last game with the 1st pick and successfully lost (with or without trying). I remember the Jets blew the chance to get Trevor Lawrence by scoring a late TD, but that's the Jets. Has any serious team managed to avoid winning the last game to keep the 1st pick?

Glad someone created this thread. It was something I thought about after the game Saturday. Think it would make good business sense to start Milton and showcase him. Either it creates a trade value for him or if he sucks then we got the first pick and he’s back for another year continuing to learn as a backup.

Lets get the rookie some real game experience...

no ulterior motives here, no sireee bob kraft...

just some good old fashioned live action game experience for our future back up of the future...
Pape you must have read my post. . Yes start Big cannon Joe.. let him play.. meanwhile get the greyhound bis tickets ready for Brissett. We have a great young QB room. All for seeing Milton...we have our franchise QB now let's let his backup have some fun.

I am quite sure that the idea of doing everything we can not to win has come across every ones mind since the giants were dumb enough to beat the clots

Shut some "banged" up players down. Perhaps if Maye has to start to satisfy the league let him do a few drives and then let's see Milton.

Maye got his bell rung on sunday... being prudent with the future franchise QB of the Patriots sounds like a smart play to me.

Roll out both Milton and Brissett, develop a 2QB package. Hell, snap two balls while we're at it.
We have trouble snapping one ball...let alone two.

Agreed. Starting Milton and entering Brissett in the 4th would all be guarantee our chances for the first overall pick. Riddle me something when's the last last in patriots history that we've held the 1st overall in the draft?

You know Mayo is going to have them actually ready to play and he'll screw this up, right?
