Howdy,
Been reading and enjoying everyones posts so far this week with the exception of the SD fans.
I think the front 7 will do just fine at containing LDT. Not stopping him but containing him. What really worries me is the Pats ability to cover Gates. Our corners have played well this year but who is going to cover Gates? He can probably outleap any of them. Maybe getting to Rivers is the key here. I don't see anybody on the Pats D being able to cover Gates 1 on 1. Can our safeties or linebackers get the job done?
Game planning. Some have mentioned keying on LDT like Faulk in the SB. I don't agree with this. The Pats offense has to control the ball and the clock like they have done against the Colts. Keep LDT and Gates on the sideline.
Getting a lead: Obviously taking the crowd out of the game and forcing SD to put the ball in Rivers hands. Teams have been able to score against the SD defense this year. A close to the vest grind it out game plays right into the Chargers strengths.
Harrison being out is a HUGE factor this week. Can the back-ups get the job done this week?
