Wilhite are inexpensive dime backs who MAY be able to play nickel or start if needed. Neither was great in their first two years, but then, neither was Samuel. We have a 53 man roster and expect to carry 4-6 corners. The hope is that one of these two will step up to be one of our top two corners, but that is NOT necessary in their roles of #4 and #5 corner. Arrington is #6 at the moment, and will likely make the team as a special teamer.
It certainly seems reasonable to me to count on Wilhite OR Springs OR Wheatley to be our nickel back and one of the other two to be our dime back (although the dome back can be one of our four safeties).
The REAL QUESTION is who are our top two corners, the ones that we will count on. One will be Butler and one will be Bodden or his replacement.
BOTTOM LINE
Are we really in terrible shape with Wilhite, Springs and Wheatley competing for time as our nickel? '
Are we really in terrible shape with Bodden and Butler as our starters?

Jesus. What a ****.
As for Wilhite, I don't mind him or Wheatley in the nickelback role.
