In the March 6, 2007 notes from his blog, Pete Prisco wrote the following:

"Don’t look for Patriots defensive end Richard Seymour to take part in the team's offseason workouts. Seymour said he has three kids and another on the way and prefers to be with them in South Carolina. "I need to do what's best for my family," Seymour said. If Bill Belichick has a problem with that, what can he do? Cut him? Please, he's their best defensive player."

Did Richard rehab his knee during the offseason with Pats trainers? When a player has offseason surgery, does the organization normally expect the player to rehab with the team?

Pete Prisco......

if my memory serves me right he did put the required workouts in but no more

I didn't think anyone took Prisco seriously anymore.

interesting he wasnt voted captain, is part of the reason is his part time participation in the off season? maybe other players didnt think that participation warranted him being a team captain , whatever the participation was im sure it was minimal

Why doesn't his family move to the Boston area?

Often wondered this myself. If my wife got a job that paid eight million bucks a year, I'd move to where ever.

Wait til Florio reads this. You'll get to be the source for the new rumor.

He's just a lazy, out of shape bum. We should get rid of him.

No, it isn't interesting that he wasn't voted a captain once you consider that Brown and Harrison were also not captains. It is quite clear that guys not on the active 53 were not on the captain list.

that has nothing to do with it ,so if brady was hurt for the first 3 or 4 games , he doesnt get elected captain?? highly unlikely

He has always preferred to stay in SC during the offseason nothing new there. Personally I think he was banged up more than people think last year and was hurt when people said he wasn't performing at a high level. He has a history of thin skin and this time he is going to wait until he is 100% ready, which in the long run is best for the Patriots.

Uhhhh..... Yes it does.

Why else was Troy Brown not a captain? Or Rodney Harrison?
