I don't disagree with you. That said, I think that really applies when you compare Mahomes to Brady or Montana. That was the discussion before.

I however am not going to hold him to that when comparing him to Peyton Manning whose all time best SB performance still resulted in him throwing a game ending pick 6.

What hurts Manning in my mind are the nine one and done playoffs in 14 attempts. The NYFL tried to protect him from the big bad AFCE by putting him in an expansion division, where he racked up huge win totals in the regular season and then flopped in the playoffs.

I remember a few years ago seeing five lists of the most clutch QBs in NYFL history and PEDton was only on one list. Brady probably moved to the top of those lists by now. The lists looked something like this:

People talk up Kermit's stats to start his career. Impressive but keep in mind the offensive weapons he inherited like Kelce, Charles, prime Hill, prime Hunt made Alex Smith look all world too. Smith blew out the Pats twice. Mahomes never blew out the Pats.

That’s exactly what top 5 I was using to troll Chiefs fans on Twitter and I do agree with the list. After that I went something like Brees, Rodgers, Unitas, Graham and Starr to keep Kermit outside the top 10 lol

So there is a video on instagram showing several plays in which Kelce failed to get out of his stance fast enough to get to his block (probably thinking about Tay Tay) and a few more where he was supposed to block Sweat and either totally whiffed (ran into Hunt on one) or tried about as hard as a 5 year old and Sweat shrugged him off to crush Mahomes. I don't see how any of the coaches cant watch the game and see that his inability or lack of willingness to block was a major problem. Not only was he a non-factor but he also hurt his team. The greatest? I dont think so.

Look if Mahomes can go 20 years and be in the AFC championships or SB everytime then it will be a valid point. Right now it's just grasping at straws. Of course he'll still need to reach at least 7 first too.
