The one knock on Long is that he doesn't have great foot speed and might struggle against speed rushers in the NFL and may be better suited for a power rushing scheme. Gholston ran by him on one sack that I saw in that game, not a huge sample but a concern.

Clady playing in the Boise St offense has very good foot speed and is an accomplished pass blocker. I'll be interested to see how his numbers match up vs current Patriots O-lineman. I haven't seen him play this year but I remember him playing really well against Oklahoma last year. Does anybody have a take on him?

McShay projects him late first early second just behind Long on his ranking system and lists him as having experience at both LT and RT. Possible to come in and start at RT next year and move to LT eventually?

If we are able to trade down in the first round and pick up an early/mid 2nd rounder a guy like this could be the last piece of our O-line.

He's a junior so it's not certain he'll come out.

Long looks to be strictly a ROT in the pros and will probably be al all pro ROT.

If the Pats were to draft him, he would be an instant improvement over Kazcur. However this draft has several excellent OT's in the same class or a notch below Long.

It seems to me that the draft has very good 2-3round quality players. I would like to see a trade back in the first and get another early second round pick. Perhaps to build young depth. I would not mind an OT in the early second along with a LB or a DB. Just a thought.

I have watched a few games of Boise St, although I hate the blue field. Clady seems to be quick and have not seen any problems with him and dont think I have seem hit beat on any plays.

I do think we can look to improve the RT side of the OLine.

I like Oher the best if he comes out. Evidently he has trouble communicating due to a learning disability but is supposed to be a good guy and learns through repetition and visualization. There's actually a book out about his unusual upbringing :

I read the book, it is caleld 'Blind Side' by Michael Lewis. Very good book, easy read, highly recommend it.

Physically Oher is suposed to be the best specimen since Odgen but I am not sure about his head. If I was a scout I wouldn't risk by job and recommend him as a top 10 pick. He is also a junior, I don't think he comes out early.

From what I've read, he learns quickly enough, he just learns differently.

I have no idea if he's coming out but I always look at players on teams with coaches who were fired as a little more likely to come out (although Broem showed last year it's no lock) so Oher from Mississippi, along with the top prospects from Michigan, Arkansas, etc, I think are a little more likely to come out.

Asante Samuel supposedly got a 9 on the Wunderlich, btw, so I wouldn't rule guys out based on intelligence.
