He's not that good, folks. Not exactly a bust, but not exactly worth where he was seleceed in the draft either - so far. Guess he's a late bloomer. It could be worse. He could be Crazy Legs Crable.

How does Ron Brace end up on the Rachel Ray show? Good agent? Knows someone who knows someone who knows someone? I mean, this is Ron Brace - not exactly a name people outside of New England would recognize.

Brace had a very disappointing first season, no doubt about that. But one or two years are not enough time to properly evaluate a young kid. Not suggesting Brace will be great, just that it's way too early to bury him like many did. He made huge strides this season.

As for why he was on the show, it was in the article a bit further down:

“My thing growing up was, I wasn’t given the education about how to help my body to have a long life,” said Brace, who helped the New Haven Public Schools’ Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools! event. “Like, how to not eat out all the time, take care of your body, how important that is. You got to take care of your bodies, especially us big guys. If you’re sluggish, you can’t perform.“

The people who say Ron Brace is not a bust, are the same people who
were saying Laurence Maroney was not a bust.

Yes, Maroney was a bit of a bust. That doesn't make every cynic correct about every player they complain about though. And make no mistake, they complain about everyone, from Wilfork being a two-down player to keeping Cassel over Brady to McCourty's awful pre-season game against the Rams proving he's over his head as a rookie starter.

And let's not forget the Meriweather is a bust thread created for our two-time Pro Bowl safety during his rookie season.

Brace could be a bust, absolutely. But there's simply no way you could know that with any degree of certainty after only one or two seasons.

I started that thread...thank you very much. And I was right as usual but I was skinned alive at the time....as usual.

Now I am starting to wonder if The Big Cheeseburger is turning things around. It is like turning the rudder on big tanker; it takes awhile for the direction to actually change. He definitely seems be paying attention to nutrition and he was an immovable mountain on the line before he was injured. I suspect that this Gentle Giant will have a good season.

So wait. You want us to congratulate you for being right that he's a bust. Except you back-track on that to say he's no longer going to be a bust and that he'll have a good season.
