Roehl waived

He was redundant with our interior line strength, but it is nice that Jeff gets a chance to sign with another team prior to Training Camp, he may make an okay back-up guard somewhere. I was surprised that he got the LT bid in NFLE, that isn't his natural position and he was exposed too much, but he didn't play badly overall - the only true weakness I felt stood out was a susceptibility to the bull rush from playing a bit too high.

I don't know of any such rule. (Cedric James didn't play with the Pats in 2004 or 2005, anyway).

Here's who I think the cuts will be:

Matt Shelton
Michael McGrew
Gemara Williams
Jarvis Herring

No Cedric didn't make the 04 or 05 roster, but he was on the Practice Squad in 04...and I believe there was an added exemption for performance in the NFLE..as bonus spot last year..It didn't amount to anything..but I do remember it..(and if Reiss's archives went back that far...I might have found it.or if the Pats site search function was better.) There are all kinds of rules regarding the NFLE that are hard to understand..this was the first I had heard of it and..it seemed odd..but then again, I have no idea how their IR works..it''s NOT like the NFL at all...
I agree with 2 there...McGrew..Herring?? Possible.. but WIlliams and Shelton..yes...
