Always felt the 1990 disaster wasn't totally his fault. Crap roster.

90 years old. Good, long life.

RIP Rod Rust a true football lifer.
Helluva coordinator, not everyone is HC material but that roster sure didn't give him a lot to work with either.

Coach Rust was a quiet, soft-spoken guy who was well liked by his Patriots players. He was an integral part of our success in the 80's, leading a talented mix of veteran and youthful defenders. Our poor record in '90 is not a reflection of his abilities and contributions here, and in other cities.


With all of our on field success this century, Rod and every other member of the '85 Pats will always have a special place in history, breaking the Orange Bowl jinx and making it to the big game, nine years after it was stolen from us.
