Dave Henderson, ALCS hero for 1986 Red Sox, dead at 57
If not for the Mets’ famous two-out, 10th-inning rally in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series, Dave Henderson would have been forever celebrated in Boston for hitting the home run that broke the Curse of the Bambino.

As it is, Henderson, who died Sunday morning at age 57 of an apparent heart attack, is remembered for one of the more memorable home runs in post-season history, leading those same Red Sox past the Angels in the ’86 ALCS.

RIP, dude. 2 clutch HRs in the '86 POs should've secured him a ring and immortality here. He never would've had to buy a beer in this town again.

Lou Gorman's trading of him to SF for the pile of useless crap that was Randy Feckin Kutcher tore the heart & soul out of that team, and was similar to trading Spaceman Bill Lee for Stan Feckin Papi after the 1978 season.

Henderson was awesome. ill never forget that huge hr in game 5 alcs. rip dave Henderson.
