With the Alan Branch signing, does this mean the door is closed for Wilfork?

Depends on the price. I think Branch is an easy going guy who appreciates the atmosphere and I'm glad to have him back. This doesn't turn him into a different player, though. It might allow a more impactful but less massive FA to work, though.

Big players hold their value better than players that depend on speed. At a certain price, Wilfork is a bargain to any team. Don't forget, he played 70% plus with a possible career ending injury. With a year of rest he stands to be better this year, though he'll never be the Vince of a few years ago who was basically the NT and both DTs in a line with a couple guys picked up at home depot.
