Pass, Mruczkowski out
Posted By: mreiss | Time: 08:30:49 PM

Running back Patrick Pass (hamstring) and offensive lineman Gene Mruczkowski (back) have been downgraded to out on the Patriots' injury report.

Without Pass, the team's third running back, that likely means Heath Evans will be active for Saturday night's game. Pass's primary contributions of late have come on special teams.

Mruczkowski was a reserve lineman who backed up the center and guard spots. His place on the 45-man game-day roster will likely be taken by Billy Yates.

The rest of the players on the Patriots' injury report made the trip to Denver.

Dang, Pass has been pretty darn good at Tailback when we've needed him this season. Mruc out means Tucker is the next in line at C, and Hoch landed on the injury list this week with an ankle injury.

We shall overcome.

Further along the blog, Mike noted BB's shout out to Ty Warren saying he was pleased with the "balanced play " of the defensive ends, implying he was holding up as well as Sey in the run game. No one has been able "to run away from one side or the other." Just more confidence in the front 7's ability to shut down the run.

That stinks.
With him out, it looks like Faulk and quick slants to the TE's against the 8 man front.
Too Bad. Always liked the way he ran. Deserved the opportunity to be in this one and be the factor he would have been.

And if you look at the last Denver game, Pass was really a factor. Plenty of runs (and a reception or two) of 6-18 yards. He will be missed.

If Evans shoulder has healed up, and he got in some good reps to work on his timing with the line this week, then having him available to pound the Denver D isn't a bad thing, but Pass was a nice tweener with Faulk-like quicks and showing some power after Cory came to set the example.
