With free agency just around the corner, Reggie Wayne would be a great addition if David Givings does not resign with the Pats. Running back is also an area that must be addressed in the off-season.

Where are they going to get the money for him? Wayne will likely be paid as a #1 by someone if he doesn't re-up in Indy. The Pats will be maybe $3 million under the cap when it's set for next season, and with cuts would probably be looking at spending the remaining cap room minus what is reserved for rookies to bring Wayne in. Plus he's soft, like the rest of the Colts. Talented, but we don't need him, not at the money he'll get anyway.

He's not going anywhere.

I can see us making a run at Reggie Wayne, if the money is right. We supposively made a run at Derrick Mason last year so i have to think we want to upgrade at the WR position. I like Givens and hope we resign him, i also think we need to add 1 more WR to this offense.

Draft wise, i really like Santanio Holmes from OSU..reminds me of Deion Branch. Maurice Stovall might also be a possibility later in day 1

Yeah, apparently the Pats offer to Mason was in the 4-5 million a year range.

If they were willing to pay Mason that amount, it makes sense to give Givens 2-3 million a year. Though if the Pats do sign Givens, then they'd really need to pay Branch as he's been the better player.

IMO, Givens > Wayne. And Givens might be cheaper, too.

even if we could get Reggie Wayne, I don't know how we'd get the Manning stink off of him

It's so hard to judge WR's until you see them run. Stovall, Hagans and Hass all look so slow to me.
I watched Watkins at the Shrine game and he looks to have the speed, but his instincts and feel looked very poor.

Hass is slow....well, at least slower than ideal. But that isn't where his value is. He's a great route runner with great instincts, feel for the game, and great hands.

You can be the best at all those items, but if you can't seperate, you won't get the ball thrown to you.
He has to prove he can run for him to be worth drafting.

Is Reggie Wayne a true #1, or is he the next Alvin Harper?
