Redzone - Comcast vs. Direct TV?

Last year I had the Redzone on my comcast cable.

I assumed it came with the NFL network.
I still have the NFL network, nothing has changed with my account.

When I turned on the Redzone when returing from the Pats game
last week, I got a message "not authorized".

Are they charging extra for the Redzone this year?

If so, does anyone know how much?

What is the cost for direct tv?

On the internet Comcast's website will show the different packages and prices for YOUR zipcode. I think you need to upgrade and buy the Sports Package.

Yeah I got the sports package with comcast...its like $7 a month. Redzone is really good especially when then Pats are not playing at the time.

Up here in Canada, Star Choice is offering Red Zone for the entire year for $24.50 as long as you have Sunday Ticket. I thought about getting it, but since I use Stat Tracker on yahoo's fantasy football site, you can tell when a team is in the red zone. Given that Sunday Ticket costs $29.99, I'd rather put the money towards a month of Sunday Ticket. I will check out the Red Zone preview today as I've read good things about it.

I called comcast...... I have the redzone.....

They are not sure why I got the "not authorized" message last week.

They sent a refresh to my box.

Hopefully I will have it at 01:00 pm.

I have had a ton of problems with my comcast service the past couple
months.

Nothing suprises me with Comcast.

You should have direct you can`t even buy red zone.
Buy the whole ticket is the only way.
On demand has no football on it.

I have given direct tv a lot of thought.

Two weeks ago, I was at the 99 in plymouth and it started pooring.
Their direct tv feed went out during the rain storm.

I do not want to lose my tv, because it rains hard.

Is this normal?

Do you lose your signal with direct tv when it rains hard?
How often do you lose your signal?

When you have extremely thick cloud cover it will be spotty. But other than that you are good.

I may lose signal 3-4 times a year for a few minutes at a time. But other than that my "cable" is never out.

We've had DirecTV and Sunday Ticket for 8 years (I think). We've also only lost a picture with horrendously hard rain (which tends to only be at night) and even then only for a few minutes tops.

I LOVE Sunday Ticket--it makes you feel like God.

Agreed. I believe this is my 11th year with the Sunday ticket ( is that possible ?). Great investment. If you get a blizzard and your dish is covered, all games are available on your PC, laptop, Ipad, cellphone, etc, as part of the package as well.
