19-0 really is the last mountain to climb at this point. I hope he reaches for it.
After 2007, there was much talk in the media, and I seem to recall some of the Pats themselves (after the season) intimating that as the season went on, the psychological weight of what they were achieving was hitting them harder and harder.
I just think that this team is a far more veteran bunch. Many more of these guys have played in Super Bowls. Several have been through Deflategate. The '07 team was far more innocent - - that was really the first year that the Pats became national villains. By now, these guys know the package they live in with this franchise - - every story and made-up story is thrown at them every week these days.
I just think they have a tougher, thicker skin and can handle the psychological pressure better than the 07'ers. JMHO.

Not to have a loser mentality or anything, and I do think calling 19-0 would be an amazing achievement, but I have to admit I’m feeling a bit relieved not having to deal with it/talk about it anymore. Just being a team playing for a Super Bowl suddenly feels like a day in the park.
Oh yeah...winning is better. And it was what, a 13 game winning streak? That’s a lot.It does take that “going undefeated” pressure but losing like this does suck real bad. I’m not too depressed about it as we’ve had bad stretches of play before and worked it out.

Agree with the overall point, but in the case of the Falcons I think it was exhaustion more than anything else. The mental/emotional aspect of this game is always undervalued. Many fans think it’s just about stacking talent and the team with the most always wins.
Things like 28-3 don’t happen without the mental aspect playing a huge part. The Falcons didn’t suddenly lose all their talent, they were defeated mentally. Momentum is a real thing and blowouts/comebacks occur because of mental breakdowns.
Complacency is a dangerous thing, it will take down the strongest of us. I think the Boogeymen got a taste of it last night. It is such a fine line between confidence and arrogance. It’s like walking a tightrope. Fortunately Belichick has been able to find the perfect formula more often than not.
I hope it stings for the next two weeks. Better now than in February.
